Praise for The Price of Water
This is the first book that I've read that was written by Ross Adams. It was very well written with a combination of adventure, good story telling, and a strong intellectual foundation. This is a must read!
Ross has captured the essence of what could be our future. A great read about where our world is heading; a world where water is scarce and the supply controlled by profiteers who will stop at nothing to maintain their monopoly. Believable and understandable, “The Price of Water” will make a great movie. Great job!
Often taken for granted, water is brought into our collective consciousness as to how valuable and politically important and can and will be. Ross Adams winds an engaging tale around the world with vivid characters. Brilliantly developed. Enjoy this one!

Assessment:
Plot/Idea: Adams’s thriller takes place in the near future, where the world is drying out and water is now the hottest commodity—and the most closely regulated. Protests across the globe are ramping up, demanding Earth’s remaining water supply be more freely distributed instead of controlled by private companies; meanwhile, political higher-ups are pulling strings behind the scenes and brilliant researchers are on the verge of solving the crisis by developing revolutionary water purification technology. The plot is entertaining and plausible, bringing up themes relevant to contemporary society.
Prose: The prose is mostly concise and straightforward, but flashbacks take place without adequate transition or warning, causing the narrative to feel disjointed.
Originality: Adams interjects some future tech into the narrative, though not as much as readers may expect. The crises facing the Earth are believable, however, and the ending satisfying.
Character/Execution: Adams delivers a diverse international cast that fits the book’s premise well, each with their own convincing part to play. As humanity fights for control of the Earth’s last resources, the book teases the divide between the haves and the have nots, illustrating the role greed plays in deciding the fate of millions.
